Burning Bush is a painting of God’s first call to Moses. As Moses was running from the consequences of his mistakes, fearful from the shame of his sin, God met him in a supernatural and unexpected way– through a burning bush that was never consumed. Many who are “born again" have a similar story of meeting God in an unexpected way prior to their knowing Him. They too have experienced the unceasing burning of the Lord in their hearts. “Were not our hearts burning within us while he talked with us on the road and opened the Scriptures to us?” (Luke 24:32).
Through the burning bush, God spoke to Moses and commissioned him to be his vessel, leading the people of Israel out of slavery and into the promised land. So too has God commissioned us to lead the world out of slavery and into the promised land of Heaven. Moses responded to God’s call with doubt, as he didn't believe he had the proper giftings to do the job. But God responded to him in this way: “The Lord said to him, ‘Who gave human beings their mouths? Who makes them deaf or mute? Who gives them sight or makes them blind? Is it not I, the Lord? Now go; I will help you speak and will teach you what to say,” Exodus 4:11-12.
